"Marina and I wanted to write a song that was really explicit about the personal cost of the political situation in the UK right now, and about how soundbite politics is worsening xenophobia and discrimination. Legal immigrants and their descendants are being vilified, and we didn't want that to go unnoticed. My personal view is that all music is political, and that artists and writers have to stand up for those who are being denied a voice." - Richard Pierce Saunderson
